Job summary

LiveView Technologies is seeking a Staff Backend Software Engineer to lead the design, performance, and scaling of our core backend. The role partners with leadership to architect resilient cloud services and mentor engineers.

The position is based onsite at our American Fork headquarters, with an emphasis on high-velocity Node.js/TypeScript development, API design, and modern cloud frameworks to support future growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on complex backend systems, cloud services, and API development.
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing OpenAPI/REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with NestJS and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong data modeling with relational databases and SQL skills.
• Proven track record guiding cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across production services.
• Ship high-velocity backend architecture with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Elevate engineering standards, reliability, and performance.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize CI/CD workflows.
• Coordinate with Product, QA, and DevOps to translate visions into specs and timelines.
• Navigate complex edge cases and protect uptime and resilience.
• Mentor engineers and shape engineering culture.
• Pioneer emerging technologies to drive backend growth.
