Job summary

LiveView Technologies in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Staff Backend Software Engineer to lead backend architecture, performance, and scalability of our cloud services. You will mentor engineers, drive high-velocity development, and translate complex business needs into reliable API-driven systems.

Based in our Seattle office on a hybrid schedule (3 days per week), you will partner with leadership across product, QA, DevOps to raise engineering standards and deliver resilient, maintainable software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building Node.js and TypeScript production services.
• Experience with OpenAPI/REST API design; GraphQL is a plus.
• Familiarity with NestJS and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong data modeling with SQL databases and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture, technical direction, and standards across production services.
• Deliver high-velocity, scalable Node.js/TypeScript code for backend systems and APIs.
• Mentor engineers and elevate development standards and reliability.
• Improve CI/CD workflows and tooling to boost team productivity.
• Translate product visions into technical specs with accurate delivery timelines.
