Job summary

Omada Health is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to expand cardiometabolic care platforms and shape how we build member- and care team-facing experiences. You’ll own architecture end-to-end and set the technical foundation for future growth.

You’ll work primarily in the backend but will span the stack as needed, learning new systems quickly and applying AI-assisted tools to deliver reliable, scalable products. You will mentor engineers and drive delivery with a focus on quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient code.
• Proficient in at least one modern backend language and able to span the stack.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience designing scalable, security-minded APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with LLMs and GenAI best practices.
• Proven experience using AI-assisted development workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and deployment tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong logging, monitoring, and telemetry knowledge.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts and principles.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, clinical, and cross-functional teams to turn vision into shipped product.
• Own architecture and technical direction end-to-end for new member- and care team-facing experiences.
• Apply broad technical judgment across languages, frameworks, and systems, using modern engineering and AI-assisted tools to quickly build context, evaluate tradeoffs, and guide delivery.
• Set the quality bar: clean, well-tested, scalable code others build on.
• Lead and multiply the team-mentor engineers, remove ambiguity, ship fast.
• Set 6-12 month technical direction and spot high-value work before it’s on the roadmap.
