Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff Systems Engineer-Automotive Network Communications to lead in-vehicle network performance across programs, focusing on Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and UART. You will manage budgets, load assessments, and performance dashboards to support scalable architectures.

Role requires system-level thinking and collaboration with ECU software/hardware teams and product leadership to ensure reliable feature delivery and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in in-vehicle networks and automotive systems.
• Proven network performance analysis experience for embedded/vehicular systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Network Performance Budget and Forecast across vehicle programs.
• Drive end-to-end load assessment including modeling, latency, and jitter for Ethernet/CAN/LIN.
• Create and manage a Network Performance Dashboard for leadership visibility.
• Support design reviews and governance with Electrical Architecture and EA PSEs.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and microcontroller teams on capacity planning.
