Job summary

Healthie, an AI-native, ONC-Certified EHR platform, is seeking a senior engineer to build and scale automated workflows for healthcare providers. You will own end-to-end delivery of customer-facing automation features, shaping how clinics automate clinical and operational processes on the Healthie platform.

Ideal candidates have substantial experience with event-driven systems, Rails-based backends, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with production-grade automation.

Responsibilities

• Build and expand Healthie’s customer-facing workflow automation capabilities within the platform.
• Develop new automation triggers and actions across core product areas (scheduling, charting, billing, messaging, patient engagement).
• Engineer reliable, scalable automation infrastructure with retries, idempotency, error handling and clear feedback.
• Ship an intuitive Automation builder enabling customers to create and manage workflows with minimal technical expertise.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, LLM APIs, and intelligent workflow orchestration.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations to ensure secure, scalable integration.
