Catholic Charities of New York is seeking a Temporary Staff Attorney in New York, NY to support the Immigrant and Refugee Services division. You will handle direct representation in removal proceedings, provide consultations, and participate in large-scale clinics for unaccompanied children and other youth.

The role requires a JD, NY Bar, and experience in immigration/family law; travel within NYC boroughs is expected.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Admission to the NY Bar required.
• At least one year of experience in family and/or immigration law preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct initial consultations and evaluate eligibility for immigration benefits.
• Manage a full caseload under supervision and provide direct representation before USCIS and EOIR.
• Prepare case evaluations and strategies with supervising attorneys.
• Maintain case files and timely reporting to partners and stakeholders.
• Supervise paralegals and train interns/volunteers on casework.
