Job summary

Build Up Justice NYC is seeking a Staff Attorney, Compliance to support operations and the general practice areas. You will conduct legal research, develop policies, and advise on risk management, governance, and contractual performance.

The role includes auditing client case files, reviewing NYSCEF/eCourts systems, monitoring case progression, and coordinating with outside counsel on litigation and investigations. Join a diverse team dedicated to justice and community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience with corporate compliance and risk management.
• Ability to review contracts and conduct legal research.
• Familiarity with NYS court filing systems (NYSCEF).

Responsibilities

• Oversee organization-wide compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
• Review contracts and coordinate with outside counsel on litigation.
• Audit client case files for policy adherence and documentation.
• Monitor case management dashboards and report metrics.
• Lead special projects for the CLO and synthesize legal research into reports.
