Key duties include negotiating with opposing counsel, attending hearings, drafting and reviewing legal documents, ensuring orders meet federal and state requirements, and maintaining case progress in automated systems.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in the state where the project is located.
• Experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor is desired (child support enforcement preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides all legal services required to establish paternity, child support, medical support and enforcement of new and existing orders.
• Offers legal advice, counsel and litigation services.
• Negotiates with opposing counsel, attends hearings, and performs related actions.
• Drafts, reviews, and signs legal documents.
• Ensures orders contain required federal and state elements and vigorously advocates the state's interests.
• Updates automated systems to monitor each case through the legal process.
• Provides legal advice to Specialists in completing documents for court filing.
• Maintains positive working relationships with State.
• Attends weekly project team meetings.
• Applies knowledge of federal and state child support policies and procedures.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Other duties as assigned
