The American School for the Deaf (ASD) seeks a Staff Interpreter to provide accurate and culturally responsive interpretation across on-campus and virtual settings. You will support Deaf community members, ensure confidentiality, and help prepare candidates for ASL Interpreter Certification.

Flexibility to cover multiple modalities and locations is essential. Qualified candidates hold RID certifications (CI/CT/NAD Level V) or equivalent and preferably a Bachelor’s degree.

Competenze

• RID/CI/CT/NAD Level V or equivalent certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory for all roles.

Mansioni

• Provide communication access for Deaf Community on campus using language skills and cultural understanding.
• Provide interpretation in multiple modalities, including in-person and virtual settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow RID Code of Conduct.
• Interpret a wide range of assignments: medical, educational, legal, employment, etc.
• Assist and mentor individuals pursuing ASL Interpreter Certification.
• May be required to work at Camp location in Salisbury, CT.
• Other duties as assigned.
