Job summary

Okta, Inc. is seeking a Staff Client Platform Engineer to own the Apple fleet (macOS/iOS) and contribute to cross-OS security and endpoint strategy. You’ll shape tooling, write design docs, and lead code-based workflows across Jamf, Intune, FleetDM, and related platforms.

You’ll collaborate with internal product teams, validate features in production, and drive engineering excellence with IaC and CI/CD practices for scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of endpoint engineering focused on Apple platforms at enterprise scale.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux; apply engineering principles across OSs.
• Deep expertise in managing endpoints at scale via MDM (e.g., Jamf Pro); familiarity with Intune, FleetDM or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own Apple fleet management for macOS and iOS, including enrollment, config profiles, and app deployment.
• Contribute to cross-platform security for Windows and Linux endpoints as the program evolves.
• Administer open-source tools (Munki, Santa) and evaluate platforms like FleetDM to improve visibility.
• Ensure endpoints meet security standards (NIST, CIS, STIG) and coordinate with Security teams.
• Apply IaC with Terraform/Ansible/Jamf API; build CI/CD pipelines for repeatable deployments.
• Set architectural direction for Apple platform domain and write design docs.
• Act as a primary feedback loop for product teams; test features in production and influence roadmaps.
• Provide Tier 3 support and participate in on-call rotations.
