Job summary

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required for VA appointment.
• Doctor of medicine (MD) degree or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in a US state, territory, or DC.
• Residency training in core specialty with board certification eligibility.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology.
• Pre-placement TB testing and immunization evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthetic assessment based on patient interview, history, labs, and planned procedure.
• Select and administer pre-anesthetic medications according to protocol and procedure.
• Evaluate pertinent labs and tests under established protocols.
• Insert IV catheters and central lines as needed and manage anesthesia care.
• Provide intraoperative anesthesia management and post-anesthesia care.
