Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking a Staff Anesthesiologist to deliver comprehensive anesthetic services from pre-operative assessment through post-anesthetic care. The physician will maintain licensure, privileges, and certification standards in a regulated VA environment.

Qualifications

• US citizenship per VA policy
• MD/DO degree from an approved school
• Current full/unrestricted medical license in the US
• Residency training in an approved core specialty
• Board certification or eligibility for VA faculty status

Responsibilities

• Provide complete anesthetic care from pre-operative assessment to post-anesthetic care in line with JCAHO standards
• Maintain current clinical privileges and licensure; keep BLS/ACLS up to date
• Share on-call duties with other staff (roughly every 4th to 5th night)
• Collaborate with Administrative Officer, section chiefs, and supervisors to meet proficiency goals
• Participate in teaching, supervision, and research as applicable
• Ensure patient care is compassionate, safe, and effective across the care continuum
