Job summary

The New York City Police Department is seeking a Staff Analyst through the Pre-Employment Services Unit to support recruitment and staffing. Duties include posting jobs, screening applicants, responding to inquiries, and maintaining recruitment databases.

Responsibilities also cover coordinating recruitment events, assisting with reporting, and supporting the unit supervisor with additional duties as needed. Hours are 9AM-5PM with NYC residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field qualifies for the Senior Staff Analyst position.
• A Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant professional experience meets minimum qualifications.
• An Associate degree plus four years of experience also qualifies.
• High school diploma plus six years of experience in relevant areas qualifies.
• A combination of education and experience may substitute for the stated qualifications with a high school diploma guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Create job postings in e-Hire for vacant positions and promote ads.
• Review resumes to ensure minimum qualifications and preferred skills.
• Respond to inquiries from Department personnel and prospective employees.
• Maintain databases capturing recruitment activities and partnerships.
• Assist with database maintenance and reporting tools.
• Participate in recruitment activities such as Career Days and Job Fairs.
• Manage the unit calendar of recruitment events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit's Supervisor

Education

Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget/financial administration or related areas

Associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits and four years of related experience

Four-year high school diploma and six years of related experience

Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to (1)-(4) with high school diploma required
