Job summary

Spring Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture and AI transformation across our enterprise platforms. This hybrid role is based in New York City, with 2-3 days in the office weekly.

You will drive AI-driven software architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Security, and IT to deliver scalable, compliant solutions that accelerate delivery and impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to design and own full‑stack platform architectures at scale.
• Deep expertise in Python and AI workflows, with AWS cloud experience.
• Strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration across Product, Security, IT.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving architectural improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on experimentation, evaluation, and production rollout of modern AI capabilities and workflows across platforms.
• Define a team architecture and decompose it into discrete components with tradeoffs.
• Establish safe AI usage guardrails covering security and compliance.
• Mentor engineers and drive strategic architectural initiatives across the org.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident analysis to improve reliability.
