Job summary

Coupang, Inc. is seeking a Staff AI Security Governance Engineer to join the AI GRC team.

This role designs and operationalizes Coupang’s enterprise AI risk framework, translating regulatory mandates into policy-as-code and establishing technical guardrails for AI development. You will partner with AI/ML engineers, security architects, Legal and Privacy to set standards, collaborate with the Control Assurance team for ongoing monitoring, and own the policy lifecycle, including data privacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical or policy field.
• 10+ years in information security, GRC, security architecture, or AI/governance.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML security risks, cloud security, and privacy principles.
• Ability to translate policy requirements into technical specs for engineering.
• Experience architecting governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, NIST CSF, PIPA).

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Coupang's AI Security & Risk Management Framework aligned to standards.
• Define control criteria and validation logic for assurance.
• Identify AI-specific threat vectors and set mitigation standards.
• Collaborate with AI platform, infra, and security teams to embed governance into architectures.
• Own enterprise AI policy lifecycle and data transfer guardrails.
