You will set standards for evaluation, model patterns, and quality across teams, and own readiness for flagship AI systems from framing through production monitoring, collaborating with engineering.

You will mentor senior scientists and influence investment decisions by Applied Science leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS or quantitative field with 6+ years AI/ML experience.
• Production AI/ML experience: systems specified, shipped, and operated at scale.
• Expert judgment about AI systems and their limits.
• Scientific rigor: supervise data understanding, evaluations templates, and error analyses.
• Software engineering judgment across teams and credible prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Take on the hardest AI/ML problems, provide clear approaches and shipable systems.
• Set evaluation methods and quality bars adopted by other scientists.
• Lead readiness for flagship AI systems from framing to production monitoring with eng teams.
• Mentor senior scientists and multiply impact through review.
• Advise Applied Science leadership on future science directions and investments.
