Job summary

Stord, The Consumer Experience Company, is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the AI Platform team. You will own architecture decisions, drive technical strategy, and raise quality bar across the team as you work hands-on with a TypeScript-based AI platform on Cloudflare Workers.

You will mentor engineers, shape the AI product roadmap with PMs, and collaborate with Data Scientists to deliver scalable, reliable AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• TypeScript (3+ years in production).
• Distributed systems & edge computing experience (Cloudflare Workers or similar).
• AI/LLM application development experience in production.
• Data streaming platforms experience (e.g., Redpanda, Kafka).
• API design & integration experience with REST/OpenAPI.
• Strong SQL and persistence (PostgreSQL; D1/Drizzle a plus).
• Cloud platforms exposure (Cloudflare, GCP, AWS).
• Observability and tracing (OpenTelemetry, Datadog).
• Technical leadership: accountability, influence, presence.
• Directed AI-assisted development and tooling practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI platform architecture and technical vision.
• Drive strategy with Sr Eng Manager and Sr PM; translate goals into plans.
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and architectural patterns.
• Set and enforce technical quality through reviews and standards.
• Hands-on design and build of core AI platform components.
• Work in TypeScript stack: Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, D1/Drizzle.
• Build robust tool systems exposing platform capabilities to AI agents.
• Design fault-tolerant integrations with downstream services.
• Integrate ML model outputs via API layers as needs evolve.
• Mentor engineers and foster autonomous decision-making.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and ML teams on roadmap.
