Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Staff AI Development Engineer to join a high-energy team driving AI transformation across our product platform. This role will be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle, designing and building AI-powered capabilities that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate agentic AI applications at scale.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python/Java backend skills, and proven leadership in

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack ownership and scalable, production-grade applications.
Experience designing, building, and operating agentic AI applications in production (LLM-powered).
Hands-on experience with LangGraph and multi-step planning, sub-agent coordination, shared-state architectures, long-running workflows, human-in-the-loop processes, and debugging production agent systems.
Strong Python/Java backend development and API design for scalable cloud-native services.
Experience delivering AI-powered user experiences (Conversational AI, IVR).
Technical leadership through architecture reviews and mentoring engineers across teams.

Responsibilities

Design and build AI-powered capabilities enabling engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate agentic AI applications at scale.
Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
Provide architecture guidance and mentor engineers to deliver reusable platform capabilities.
