Job summary

Anduril Industries in the United States is seeking a founding Staff AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect, build, and scale the end-to-end machine learning platform powering our autonomous systems. You will own the ML platform roadmap, construct robust infra and MLOps tooling to train, evaluate, host, and serve complex AI models in cloud and air-gapped edge networks, boosting researchers' productivity.

You’ll mentor engineers and help grow the infra team while collaborating with AI researchers

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, building, and operating production-scale ML systems.
• Proficient in Python, Go, C++ or similar backend languages.
• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed training frameworks.
• Hands-on experience building distributed data pipelines (ETL) and large multi-modal datasets.
• Experience leading complex migrations and mentoring engineers.
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain U.S. Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain training, orchestration, and experimentation infrastructure for state-of-the-art models.
• Identify bottlenecks in the ML research lifecycle and build automated tooling for tuning and tracking.
• Scale ETL pipelines for terabytes of multi-modal data from assets and test sites.
• Architect high-throughput model serving for cloud and air-gapped edge environments; build CI/CD for ML models.
• Establish continuous evaluation, model validation, and RLHF/DPO loops for safety and predictability.
• Collaborate with AI researchers and platform engineers to unify infrastructure standards across programs.
