Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a founding Staff AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect, build, and scale the end-to-end machine learning platform that powers Anduril’s autonomous systems. As a Staff Engineer, you will own the technical roadmap for our ML platform.

You will build the robust infrastructure, MLOps tooling, and systems architecture required to train, evaluate, host, and serve complex AI models in both cloud environments and air-gapped, offline tactical edge networks.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering designing production-scale ML systems.
• Proficient in Python, Go, C++ or similar backend languages for ML systems.
• Deep experience with Docker, Kubernetes and distributed training frameworks (PyTorch Distributed, Ray, Slurm).
• Hands-on with building distributed ETL data pipelines for terabytes of multi-modal data.
• Technical leadership experience, ability to mentor engineers and set direction.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect the ML Platform: design, build, and maintain training, orchestration, and experimentation infra.
• Optimize AI Researcher Velocity: identify bottlenecks and build automated tools for tuning and tracking.
• Build Data Pipelines at Scale: design high-performance ETL for terabytes of data from sensors and simulations.
• Deploy Model Serving Infra: architect scalable serving frameworks for cloud and edge environments.
• Implement Evaluation & Alignment Loops: automated evaluation and RLHF/DPO pipelines for safety.
• Collaborate with AI Researchers, CV teams, and platform engineers to standardize infra across programs.
