Job summary

General Motors Company seeks an experienced Staff AI Engineer to design and deliver trustworthy AI systems and data products across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Global Markets. You will lead from problem framing to production deployment, building reusable, secure AI capabilities at scale.

You will translate business problems into AI objectives, develop predictive and NLP solutions, and craft robust data pipelines and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, data science, statistics, math, or engineering.
• 8+ years in AI, machine learning, data engineering, or related fields.
• Experience taking AI/ML solutions through production deployment and operation.
• Strong Python and SQL with production-quality code, testing, and version control.
• Hands-on with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience building AI apps, APIs, data pipelines, dashboards, or workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, data quality, and release management.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, cloud data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into AI objectives, evaluation plans, and success criteria.
• Develop, validate, and improve predictive, forecasting, classification, and NLP/GA solutions.
• Build production-grade AI applications, services, dashboards, and workflows.
• Design interfaces between data pipelines, models, tools, and front-end apps.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and governance patterns for responsible AI.
