Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to design and deliver trustworthy AI systems, ML solutions, data products, and applications that improve decisions, automate work, and create measurable business impact across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Global Markets. This is a hands-on individual contributor role spanning problem framing, data engineering, model development, and production operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of professional experience across AI, ML, data science, data engineering, software engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience taking AI/ML solutions from concept through production deployment and operation.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with production-grade code, testing, and version control.
• Hands-on experience with data-science and ML libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Experience building AI applications, APIs, services, data pipelines, dashboards, or workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear AI objectives, solution strategies, and evaluation plans.
• Develop, validate, and improve predictive, forecasting, classification, and decision-support solutions.
• Define data requirements and build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and feature pipelines.
• Build production-grade AI applications, APIs, dashboards, and tools with secure interfaces and orchestrations.
• Establish evaluation frameworks, monitor model performance, and ensure governance and safety.
