Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – AI to lead production backend and AI capabilities within the Confirmation Product Engineering team. You will work hands-on on C#/.NET backends, distributed systems, and Python for AI/ML integration, delivering LLM-powered applications with reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Role requires Hands-on leadership, model context patterns, and cross-team collaboration to advance AI engineering patterns and secure, auditable solutions for enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Strong C#/.NET production development experience (backend services, APIs).
• Hands-on Python experience for AI/ML system development and integration.
• Proven track record delivering AI/ML features into production.
• Experience with microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, relational databases, observability, and scalability.
• Experience leading complex engineering initiatives from architecture to production.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deliver production backend services using C#/.NET and distributed systems.
• Build AI/ML capabilities using Python, including LLM integration and AI agents.
• Lead hands-on AI engineering initiatives across product and infrastructure.
• Develop AI orchestration, routing, MCP servers, and multi-step workflows.
• Ensure scalable, reliable AI workloads with caching, rate limiting, and resilience.
• Design retrieval and data capabilities with vector stores and semantic search.
• Provide Staff-level technical leadership and mentorship.
