Job summary

Nextiva is seeking a Staff Engineer – AI to design, build, and launch AI‑focused capabilities across Nextiva’s ecosystem. You will work hands-on with Python, own projects end-to-end, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to accelerate AI initiatives while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

This role emphasizes hands-on coding, system design, and cross-team collaboration, with a remote-friendly setup and Scottsdale HQ collaboration four days per week for onsite needs.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on production delivery.
• Very strong Python engineering skills.
• Strong system design capabilities.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems.
• Experience owning and launching software modules end to end.
• Ability to remain hands-on with coding at Staff Engineer level.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch AI-focused engineering capabilities and modules.
• Own initiatives end to end from solutioning to launch.
• Remain hands-on with production code and development.
• Build solutions using Python and distributed-systems principles.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to extend capabilities.
• Partner with product/engineering teams and other groups on new initiatives.
• Work with NextOS and NextIQ initiatives across the ecosystem.
• Translate ambiguous problems into practical engineering solutions.
• Take accountability for designing, building, and launching capabilities.
