Job summary

Gravie is hiring a seasoned software leader to design and build production-grade AI agent systems in a healthcare-focused, regulated setting. You will shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive architecture reviews across teams.

The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and explainability of AI-powered solutions. You will work with React and TypeScript to deliver intuitive product experiences while defining standards for CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production monitoring.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of software engineering experience with technical leadership of complex distributed systems.
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams or product areas.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production AI applications, not just prototypes.
• Hands-on experience with agentic development using AI coding agents to design specs and plans.
• Deep expertise in Python backend and distributed systems, or React/TypeScript product engineering.
• Experience with retrieval, embeddings, context, memory, evaluation, monitoring, or AI agent architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade AI agent systems with multi-agent workflows and reliable infrastructure.
• Design retrieval, context, and memory architectures for ground AI outputs.
• Lead the development of AI-powered decision-support systems for healthcare and regulated environments.
• Architect distributed services, event-driven workers, pipelines, APIs, and data models.
• Guide the development of intuitive React/TypeScript experiences for complex AI capabilities.
• Establish patterns for AI quality and safety, including automated evaluations and monitoring.
• Define standards for deploying AI-enabled systems via CI/CD, cloud infra, and observability.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead architecture reviews, and shape technical roadmaps.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Engineering, Product, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
