the company.ai is building the AI operating system for healthcare. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design technical solutions and build core technology across our product lines. You will spend most of your time coding while also driving architectural changes and mentoring peers.
The role requires translating complex customer workflows into structured technical requirements and owning key projects in a fast-paced startup environment focused on healthcare AI.
Qualifications
- Experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
- Hands-on experience with AI products, AI agents, LLM workflows, prompt/configuration systems, evals, or similar agentic systems.
- Strong written communication and documentation habits.
- Ability to translate messy customer workflows into structured technical requirements.
- High ownership and bias toward action.
Responsibilities
- Write code. That means daily PRs. Technical leadership never comes at the expense of individual contributions.
- Scope out new features. Sit in on customer calls and formulate technical solutions that engineer can then implement. Call out risks, and make sure we only sell what we can build.
- Identify and drive deep architectural changes.
- Drive small engineering teams. As teams grow, staff engineers are expected to step up an coordinate their peers.
