Job summary

Altimate AI, a San Francisco-based AI company, seeks a Staff Software Engineer to strengthen backend systems powering DataPilot and DataMates platforms. You will design and implement scalable APIs, data pipelines, and AI-powered endpoints that integrate with VSCode, Git, and Slack workflows.

The role emphasizes deep experience with Python backends, cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, and modern API frameworks to accelerate enterprise data teams through AI automation.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience building Python-based web application backends and the infrastructure on which they run.
Extensive experience in building scalable back-end systems, APIs, and microservices.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

Lead the backend integration of LLM architectures and maintain backend infrastructure powering AI features.
Architect data pipelines for processing large datasets and develop AI-powered endpoints for our SaaS and VSCode extension.
Design and develop large-scale graph-based data structures for context feeding to AI applications.
Lead the development of a comprehensive SQL intelligence ecosystem, including query profiling and AST analysis.
