Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Staff/Senior Software Engineer specializing in Agent Engineering to advance the agent runtime powering our platform's research, analysis, and action capabilities. The role is based in New York City and requires on-site work, reporting directly to senior leadership.

You will own and improve systems that make agent behavior reliable in production, including execution state, tool use, memory, model routing, and security, with emphasis on long-running, multi-agent workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production LLM or agent systems beyond prototype stages.
• Ability to diagnose nondeterministic failures and distinguish model judgment from deterministic software.
• Experience enabling autonomous execution, human approvals, or conventional application logic in workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance the platform's agent runtime and foundational systems.
• Build infrastructure for long-running agent workflows with visibility, steerability, and project linkage.
• Design and build the tool and action framework for safe interactions with internal/external services.
• Connect agents to retrieval and knowledge systems with grounded evidence and citations.
• Develop persistent memory and context-management for complex multi-step workflows.
• Improve evaluation, tracing, security, and release processes for agent behavior.
• Manage latency, inference cost, security, and operational risk in production.
