Job summary

JLL is seeking a Staff Engineer in New York City to join the Research Technology & AI Agents team. You will lead AI-augmented development, integrating LLMs and enterprise agents to automate research workflows at scale, while co-locating with Product and Research for rapid iteration.

You will design, build, and deploy cloud-native microservices, mentor juniors, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver production-grade AI-enabled platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency using AI coding tools and agents to build production software.
• Ability to review and debug AI-generated code for correctness and security.
• Backend systems, microservice architectures, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI tools and agents to rapidly develop, test, and deploy production software.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features from requirements to deployment.
• Design prompts, workflows, and agent configs to ensure reliable AI outputs.
• Build cloud-native microservices and scalable APIs for internal products.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, data, and security teams.
