Job summary

Transamerica Corporation is actively seeking an experienced Actuary in Cedar Rapids to lead actuarial research, pricing, reserving and modeling initiatives. The role involves developing assumptions, performing analyses, and contributing to financial reporting and regulatory filings.

You will work in a hybrid environment (three days in office per week) and may supervise junior staff. A Bachelor's in Actuarial Science or related field plus ASA designation and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of Bachelor's, Master’s in a listed discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
• ASA or equivalent professional designation.
• Demonstrates high quality judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
• Effectively communicates advanced mathematical and analytical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develops actuarial assumptions for pricing, reserving or actuarial modeling.
• Coordinates, prepares, and performs actuarial analyses for pricing strategies and risk management.
• Maintains profit studies and GAAP/IFRS actuarial items and reserve programs.
• Prepares actuarial portions of financial reports or regulatory filings.
• Communicates actuarial research results to management.
• May supervise one or more Actuarial Analysts or Technicians.
• Documents and ensures model validation and SOX procedures.
