Job summary

Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our bedding business through data analysis, month-end close, costing and reporting. You will work with multiple business units to drive results while maintaining SOX controls and a collaborative culture.

The role emphasizes journal entries, monthly reports, inventory costing, and cross-functional forecasting. Strong Excel/Word skills and 1-3 years of accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting required.
• GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; strong written and verbal skills.
• 1-3 years accounting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter journal entries for revenues and expenses.
• Assist in monthly financial reports, including P&L and variances.
• Complete inventory costing and month/quarterly analyses.
• Gather forecasting data and support SOX controls.
• Support internal and external audits and cross-functional teams.
