We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Staff Accountant within our accounting team to help support our bedding business. Did you know we have been revolutionizing the sleep industry since 1883? That’s right!

In fact, we hold the original patent on a spiral steel coil bed spring, filed way back in 1885. Since then, we have been an industry leader in guaranteeing you get the best sleep possible. As a Staff Accountant you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of business units

Qualifications

BS in Accounting is required.
GAAP knowledge and strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Experience with month-end close and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and enter journal entries to ensure revenues and expenses are properly recorded.
Assist in the preparation of all monthly financial reports, including P&Ls and departmental actual vs. forecast statements.
Complete costing of inventory.
Complete month/quarterly analysis and schedules.
Gather forecasting data and supplemental information.
Maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Support internal and external audits.
Provide support to U.S. Spring & Wire.
Special projects as requested.
