Job summary

Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our bedding business and contribute to the month-end close, costing, and financial analysis. You will prepare journal entries, assist with monthly financial reports, and help ensure internal controls within the SOX framework are maintained.

Collaboration with multiple business units is essential. The role requires a BS in Accounting, GAAP knowledge, strong Excel/Word skills, and 1–3 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter journal entries to ensure all revenues and expenses are properly recorded.
• Assist in the preparation of all monthly financial reports, including P&Ls and departmental actual vs. forecast statements.
• Complete costing of inventory.
• Complete month/quarterly analysis and schedules.
• Gather forecasting data and supplemental information.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Provide support to U.S. Spring & Wire.
• Special projects as requested.

You will participate in the month end closing process, costing, reporting and analysis all while keeping the SOX control framework in mind. So, what will you be doing as a Staff Accountant?
