Job summary

Bachman’s in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Staff Accountant to drive accurate financial reporting, oversee payroll accounting, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

You will reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare journal entries, and manage full-cycle bi-weekly payroll, including garnishments and tax levies. Join a team focused on precision and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires 4-year accounting degree with 5+ years accounting/payroll experience or 2-year degree with 10+ years related work.
• Strong GAAP knowledge with ability to analyze general ledger postings and reconciliations.
• Proven ability to assist auditors and explain policy/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, inventory deposits, payroll liabilities, and deferred revenue.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, including recurring and reconciliation-based adjustments.
• Manage full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing, including garnishments and tax levies.
• Maintain payroll reports, commission schedules, and UltiPro reporting; act as payroll system SME.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and reporting, including quarterly 941 filings, W-2s, and year-end requirements.
• Evaluate payroll controls and procedures; identify process improvements and maintain payroll documentation.
• Support audits, analyze labor data, provide Controller backup, and assist with reporting and admin duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
