The Staff Accountant position is a great opportunity to utilize your accounting skills working for a first-class non-profit organization. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance on carrying out the mission of the UPM Finance and Accounting department. Responsibilities will include coordinating and executing payroll processing in partnership with HR, preparing journal entries, completing monthly bank reconciliations, and generating reports and statements.
BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field.
Minimum of two years’ proven experience as a staff accountant, payroll accountant or similar role
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices; experience with banking and reconciliations; proficient in MS Office suite especially Excel; Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality; Attention to Detail
Non-profit accounting experience, familiarity with Intacct software, and/or Primepoint payroll systems.
Sitting for Extended Periods: Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk while performing administrative tasks or using a computer. Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift or carry light office supplies, boxes, or event materials (typically up to 10 lbs.)
