R.F. MacDonald Co. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Controller and assist with A/R, A/P, and payroll duties in a fast-paced environment in Hayward, CA.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with NetSuite and tax processes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in accounting and minimum two years related experience.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and accounting software systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Keystrokes a minimum of 45 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end close, including WIP review, margin analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Generate monthly financial reports using Adaptive or NetSuite Reporting.
• Act as NetSuite super-user for reporting and data maintenance under Controller guidance.
• Reconcile monthly sales/use tax with Avalara and file quarterly online returns.
• Invoicing customers requiring electronic billing; manage Verizon account billing analysis.
• Provide backup support to Credit, A/R, A/P, and Payroll teams during peak times.
• Assist with special projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
