Job summary

Faithward Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a growing family of professional-services organizations in Pennsylvania. You will handle day-to-day accounting, A/P, reconciliations, financial reporting, and payroll while improving processes.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will manage multi-state payroll processing and support multi-entity accounting, month-end close, and audits.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant accounting experience including A/P, GL activity, reconciliations, and month-end support.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll and related payroll taxes.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Own accounts payable workflow: review invoices, coding, approvals, payments, vendor docs, and 1099 reporting.
• Support accurate financial reporting: reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, closings, and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Support multi-entity accounting: track costs, billable recoveries, intercompany reconciliations, client funds handling.
• Partner with payroll team to process multi-state biweekly and semimonthly payrolls with HR coordination.
• Verify payroll earnings, deductions, benefits changes, and tax liabilities; liaise with payroll provider for filings.
• Assist with audits and financial reviews: prepare records for external advisors and tax preparation.
