Wasatch Equity Partners seeks a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The role supports financial reporting, accounting operations, and closes across a diverse set of investments.

The ideal candidate combines strong fundamentals with initiative and independent problem-solving. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and team, handling journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort learning new accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, general ledgers, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Support financial statement preparation, annual audits, and other reporting requirements.
• Research accounting discrepancies, identify underlying issues, and develop appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate with internal team members and external contacts to obtain information and resolve accounting matters.
• Provide guidance and review support to accounting clerks as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities while contributing to broader team objectives.
