Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. is seeking a Staff Accountant II / Systems Support Accountant to support the Accounting Manager and staff with monthly closing, ad-hoc data queries, and policy documentation.

The role emphasizes accuracy, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to audit schedules. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2+ years practical experience in account reconciliation, general ledger, and reporting desired.
• 1+ years administrative/clerical experience.
• 1+ years customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains general ledger accounting system rules to ensure only valid account combinations are allowed.
• Administers financial reporting system, including account hierarchies and creation of new reports.
• Reviews documents that fail to post to the general ledger and resolves any conflicts.
• Engages in short-term and long-term projects to improve accounting systems and procedures.
• Performs ad-hoc data queries and analyzes account details, communicating findings.
• Communicates with senior management about material errors and issues.
