Job summary

Respondology, the AI-powered social engagement platform, seeks a Staff Accountant to own AR/AP, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and month‑end close. You’ll build our first in‑house accounting function with scope to scale and influence processes from day one.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on accounting, GAAP expertise, and experience closing monthly books. This role reports to the CFO in a fast‑growth environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close.
• Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) for SaaS.
• Ability to work autonomously and resolve discrepancies.
• Hands-on with cloud accounting software and spreadsheets.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
• Clear communication to explain financial concepts to non-finance teams.
• Nice to have: Tabs AR automation and in-house transition experience; CPA or pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Own accounts receivable end to end: invoicing, cash apps, and collections.
• Manage customer invoicing in Tabs and ensure accuracy.
• Process accounts payable including vendor invoices and payments.
• Serve as first contact for shared accounting inbox; respond to inquiries.
• Own revenue recognition per GAAP and timely recording.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and agency partner reconciliations.
• Lead month-end close and prepare financial statements and internal reports.
• Maintain general ledger and documentation for audits and tax filings.
• Collaborate with CFO and cross-functional teams; document workflows.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements, automation where possible.
• Support budgeting/forecasting with performance analysis and insights.
• Assist with onboarding new accounting teammates as the function grows.
