American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general ledger accuracy, month-end close processes, and journal entries.

You will help with balance sheet reconciliations, GAAP revenue/expense recognition, and internal controls while collaborating with a fast-paced finance team. The role offers hybrid scheduling with in-office collaboration at Pittsburgh and opportunities for process improvement across finance functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• CPA certification or active CPA track preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare, analyze, and post routine and complex journal entries.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review transactions to ensure GAAP revenue/expense recognition.
• Assist with audit schedules and documentation for external reviews.
• Support SOX internal controls and control documentation.
• Contribute to management reports and financial analysis.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects and process improvements.
