Job summary

AEG Presents is seeking a Staff Accountant to own general ledger activities, assist with month-end close, and support accounts payable. You will analyze financial data, address variances, and ensure internal controls across the finance team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 2+ years of accounting experience, and proficiency with JD Edwards and Excel. Spanish bilingual is a plus, and a comprehensive benefits package with bonus eligibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply them in practice.
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial reconciliations.
• Proficiency in JD Edwards and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy across business segments.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries; support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations; investigate variances and implement resolutions.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports, schedules, and variance explanations.
• Evaluate transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment per policy and standards.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with data, trends, and insights.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and propose process improvements.
• Provide backup for accounts payable including reviewing vendor invoices and approvals.
• Assist with payment activities (ACH, wire) and related documentation.
• Address vendor and internal inquiries on payments and discrepancies.
• Review employee expense reports for policy compliance and proper accounting.
• Reconcile booking-related revenues, expenses, and payments with contracts.
