Job summary

Phoenix Tailings, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the monthly close and day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

You will own journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and reconciliations, and prepare schedules that support the audit. This is a hands-on role with clear ownership and growth potential as the finance team builds out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and the month-end close process.
• Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication; eager to learn and take on ownership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close.
• Calculate and record accruals, and maintain the supporting documentation.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and research reconciling items.
• Prepare audit schedules and gather documentation in support of the annual audit.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable operations as needed.
• Follow and help document accounting procedures; flag issues and process gaps.
• Support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from the accounting team.
