Job summary

Granville Homes in Fresno, CA seeks a Staff Accountant to lead daily accounting operations within a hands-on, real estate environment. You will work closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely close.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will manage AP, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close while supporting audits and budgeting. The role offers a competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience (or entry-level transition from bookkeeping).
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong Excel capabilities (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Working knowledge of GAAP and automated reconciliation software.
• High attention to detail and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Manage full-cycle AP operations with high accuracy and timeliness.
• General Ledger & Journal Entries: Post daily journal entries, maintain ledger accounts, and keep financial records up to date.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet, bank, and credit card reconciliations to promptly identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Month-End Close: Assist with accruals, adjustments, and compiling financial statements.
• Audits & Compliance: Gather documentation for internal and external auditors and support tax return preparation.
• Analysis & Budgeting: Track departmental expenses, run variance analyses, and assist with forecasting.
