Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of Lanier in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close processes. You will ensure GAAP compliance and contribute to internal controls.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 1–3 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and accounting software skills. CPA candidacy preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Process accounts for receivable transactions as needed.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
