Job summary

Concacaf seeks a Staff Accountant based in Miami to assist the Accounting Manager with GAAP-compliant financial reporting and monthly closings. You will handle journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses while maintaining internal controls and accuracy across ledgers.

The role requires at least 2 years in accounting, familiarity with SAP/Oracle/Dynamics GP, and strong Excel skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (BAA)
• At least 2 years of experience working in the accounting field
• Experience in auditing and/or accounting for organizations preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations, including a closing calendar and review process cadence
• Critical thinking and strong analytical skills
• Must be a process-driven thinker and goal oriented
• Strong knowledge of internal control processes and detail review of financial records
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics Great Plains)
• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidate is bilingual (English/French or Spanish). Dutch is a plus
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with others

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly closing process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support variance analysis and accuracy of journal entries
• Manage customer contracts and update the Contract Database with terms, revenue allocations, and payment plans
• Assist in preparing timely internal financial reporting
• Research GAAP matters and improve accounting procedures
• Assist and support in preparing consolidated financial statements
• Provide documentation for annual external audit and FIFA audit
• Perform periodic off-site inventory counts and monthly inventory adjustments
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures
• Stay current on regulatory changes and industry news
• Support ad-hoc projects and other tasks as needed
