Job summary

Alliant University is seeking a Staff Accountant to support routine and ad hoc accounting functions under the Controller. The role requires GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and the ability to apply federal, state, and higher education regulations.

The Staff Accountant will maintain high professional and ethical standards, coordinate with outsourced A/P, assist with month-end close, and prepare financial reports for the headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Familiarity with GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with outsourced A/P to ensure invoices are processed timely and financial statements are accurate.
• Provide accounting system technical assistance to faculty and staff on accounting practices.
• Prepare periodic financial reporting for the international company headquarters and oversee treasury matters.
• Review General Ledger detail for accuracy and prepare correcting journal entries when required.
• Review GL reconciliations prepared by the outsourced provider and suggest improvements.
• Provide month-end and ad hoc accounting reports as needed.
• Prepare accounting schedules and analyses, as required.
• Support annual financial audits and internal audits with schedules and reconciliations.
