Job summary

Koala Health, an innovative online pet pharmacy, seeks a skilled accounting professional to support day-to-day operations, process accounts payable, post monthly journal entries, and own month-end close activities to ensure accurate reporting as we scale.

This remote role includes occasional travel to our Boston HQ. You will partner with the Controller and FP&A to improve accounting workflows, leverage AI tools, and help build scalable financial processes in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable.
• Detail-oriented with strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and recurring entries as part of the financial close.
• Own assigned month-end close activities and ensure schedules, reconciliations, and documentation are accurate and complete.
