Job summary

Concentra is the nation’s leading occupational health care company and a trusted partner to employers nationwide. The Staff Accountant applies established accounting principles to moderately difficult financial problems and supports a full-cycle month-end close for assigned corporate departments.

You will perform reconciliations, variance analysis, and cost tracking, while collaborating with IT, operations, and management to ensure controls and SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience.
• In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
• CPA would be a plus
• Customarily has at least three or more years of experience in full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
• Experience with multi-location and multi-legal entity accounting
• Experience in a challenging, complex financial reporting environment
• Oracle or other ERP experience

Responsibilities

• Perform centralized accounting and full-cycle month end close process for assigned corporate departments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, and variance analysis
• Support IT project accounting working alongside IT leaders.
• Ensures that invoices related to company assets are assigned the correct general ledger accounts and departmental cost centers in the accounting system.
• Communicate and work with operational personnel, as well as all levels of corporate management
• Assist management to ensure proper controls and SOX compliance requirements are met
• Support audit requests
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
• Perform assigned ad hoc accounting projects
