Job summary

Concentra, Inc. in Addison, TX is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform centralized accounting and the full-month end close for corporate departments. You will handle reconciliations, variances, and support IT project accounting, while ensuring proper controls and accurate GL postings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform centralized accounting and full-cycle month end close for corporate departments.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Support IT project accounting with IT leaders.
  • Ensure correct GL accounts and cost centers for assets.
  • Communicate with operational personnel and management.
  • Assist in SOX controls and audit requests.
  • Identify process improvements and handle ad hoc projects.

The Staff Accountant applies well-established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to moderately difficult financial problems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform centralized accounting and full-cycle month end close process for assigned corporate departments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accrual accounting, and variance analysis
  • Support IT project accounting working alongside IT leaders.
  • Ensures that invoices related to company assets are assigned the correct general ledger accounts and departmental cost centers in the accounting system.
  • Communicate and work with operational personnel, as well as all levels of corporate management
  • Assist management to ensure proper controls and SOX compliance requirements are met
  • Support audit requests
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Perform assigned ad hoc accounting projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
  • In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
  • CPA would be a plus
  • Customarily has at least three or more years of experience in full cycle month end close process, account reconciliation and variance analysis
  • Experience with multi-location and multi-legal entity accounting
  • Experience in a challenging, complex financial reporting environment
  • Oracle or other ERP experience
